Part of Bristol Innovations, the University of Bristol’s catalyst for innovation, our network brings together individuals and organisations who are working to commercialise quantum technologies and create the next generation of quantum enterprises.

We’re working with academics, entrepreneurs, corporates, investors and government agencies to tackle global challenges and seek new pathways to secure communications, supercomputing, space-based technologies, AI, cybersecurity and more.

Bristol Quantum Information Technologies (BQIT) is a 3-day workshop to enable UK and international academics and industrial partners to come together to explore and discuss future ambitions and challenges in quantum information technologies.

4th Annual Commercialising Quantum Global 2025

In its fourth year, the Commercialising Quantum Global Summit returns to London. Over 120 speakers will take the stage to discuss and explore the promise, peril, applications, limitations, hype, and reality of quantum technology. What are the actions organisations should take today to prepare?

The Quantum Summit at the AI Summit London

11-12 June 2025

The AI Summit London brings together the most forward-thinking technologists and business professionals in the UK, Europe, and beyond to explore the real-world applications of AI. It’s a two-day conference, and all-round immersive experience, that celebrates this emerging and transformative technology.

Incubation

One third of all UK quantum startups have launched in Bristol, supported by a wealth of quantum and deeptech incubation hubs in the city.  

The University of Bristol’s Quantum Technologies Innovation Centre offers startups and businesses access to high-spec dry labs, specialist equipment and support. Its full facility will open at the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus in Autumn 2026. 

Science Creates provides startups with essential R&D space and support, alongside its own dedicated venture capital fund. It will open its third deep tech incubator in 2025, with £8.5 million funding from University of Bristol and Research England.  

Mission Street will open 145,000 sq ft of lab and office space in the centre of Bristol’s innovation district in Autumn 2026.

SETsquared Bristol is an acclaimed tech incubator, providing training and an expert network of advisers and investors for deep tech founders to grow their business.  

TRAINING

SETsquared Bristol provides training courses with a proven track record of helping aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs to commercialise their ideas and make a purposeful impact.

PIC Bootcamp courses teach people about the use cases for photonic-integrated devices and how to create your own for real-world applications. Based on courses developed by the University of Bristol and augmented by Southampton’s fabrication expertise, they combine industrial insights from Wave Photonics and Bay Photonics to ensure they meet industry needs.
